Fixed Mindset vs. Growth Mindset

A 'fixed' mindset assumes that the really important things about us (i.e. our character, intelligence and creativity), are fixed. This means that no matter how hard you work, you sincerely believe that you can only achieve up to the limit that your 'inherent' ability allows. People in this category therefore tend to avoid challenges, because if they were meant to be able to contend with it, then it wouldn't be a challenge for them in the first place- besides, failure sucks right? A 'growth' mindset on the other hand is one that's addicted to challenges because instead of seeing failure as evidence of unintelligence, failure is rather considered a springboard to enhance your existing abilities.
So, as you can see, this essentially boils down to your relationship with failure. The view you adopt will seriously affect how you go on to lead your life. To take this a tiny step further, those who have a fixed mindset hate failure because they are consumed with the idea of proving themselves. In a way, to them, if they fail then they've failed twice - they've failed at the task, and they've failed to prove themselves. Therefore, refusing to approach challenges is a seemingly sure-fire way for them to be able to 'maintain' their status.
Obviously, you know that's all rubbish as far as I'm concerned. However, if I just described you, then you'd better get going- because this has never and will never be a safe space for you.
When you have that nutritious, good-vibes, growth mindset, then you have a real passion for learning, rather than a craving for approval. You learn absolutely nothing from success. I mean, absolutely nothing. You don't even actually learn what works, because factors are ever changing. But from failure?- ooo, failure is sweet! Failure inspires experimentation and ignites new realities.
Please refuse to believe that the extent of your qualities has already been predetermined, because the power is truly in your hands. In the meantime, make mistakes. Interesting mistakes. Amazing mistakes. Glorious mistakes. Fantastic mistakes. Then do it all again, because that's the only way in which you're actually going to grow.
